Healing Hands
As many of you may have noticed, it has been a while since I last posted here on the blog. There have been some significant life events that have occurred.
Last month, I was a victim involved in a shooting.
On October 31, 2021, I planned to attend the wedding reception of some great friends. I asked a friend if I could ride with him, and he agreed. The wedding reception was a costume-themed one, so I changed at my ride's apartment. Upon exiting the restroom, I was shot twice. I was told that he would not go anywhere with me looking like I did faggot nigger. (I was hit a third time while on the phone with dispatch.) After the incident, I had to be life-flighted to the nearest hospital.
This course of events was not something I had planned to happen in my life. As I begin to recover, I have found it hard to find different types of therapy. Therapy becomes a bigger problem because of my lack of insurance. The responsibilities that my family and I have retained have not stopped there.
