Oh, Puerto Rico, a florid garden of magical brilliance.
I’ll admit that I say, “life is too short,” a lot. Leading up to this trip, I have had a lot of life events happen. I’m so thankful for the community I have worked hard to build, which is currently standing near me in the spaces I need it to.

On October 19th, 2025, I flew back to Texas to serve as a witness in the case of The State of Texas vs. Zachary Pfluger. As one of the victims in this case, I navigated through so many thoughts. What resolution was I seeking? How would I process seeing him for the first time since 2021?

The 31st will be the first year since I was involved in the shooting. My life has changed a bit since then. One of the biggest things (or boundaries) that I have needed to set is being alone with white men.
